Tell Everyone What He Has Done

It is not rocket science or brain surgery. Evangelism…. Witnessing…. These words are not meant to be scary terms, for they are words which mean what we sing in our worship, “Tell everyone what He has done” – that is our JOY! We are to tell what our God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – has done, does, and will continue to do. We are to tell of His salvation story. We are to share how His story affects us. We are to share what God desires to do for everyone from past to present and on into future. We are to tell everyone what He has done!

Telling everyone about our God is built into children of God because the Holy Spirit dwells in us and makes it His work to point to Jesus. He has directed us to Christ, and through us, points others to Jesus.

The Apostles’ Creed states well what God has done and will do, chief of which is to rescue us from sin, death, and the power of the devil through the perfect payment for sin. Jesus – Son of God and Son of Man – gave His life upon the cross. He died that we might live! The purchasing power of Jesus’ blood destroys any power the devil had because sin no longer rules over us. We stand forgiven before God Almighty. As we confess to everyone…

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen

Is this reason to celebrate? Certainly! And… “Tell Everyone What He Has Done.” We speak through acts of mercy and words of kindness and truth. So when we leave worship singing words like:

Sent forth by God’s blessing, Our true faith confessing,
The people of God from His dwelling take leave.
The supper is ended. O now be extended
The fruits of this service in all who believe.
The seed of His teaching, Receptive souls reaching,
Shall blossom in action for God and for all.
His grace did invite us, His love shall unite us
To work for God’s kingdom and answer His call.

With praise and thanksgiving To God ever living,
The tasks of our everyday life we will face.
Our faith ever sharing, In love ever caring,
Embracing His children of each tribe and race.
With Your feast You feed us, With Your light now lead us;
Unite us as one in this life that we share.
Then may all the living With praise and thanksgiving
Give honor to Christ and His name that we bear. (LSB 643)

It means, “Tell Everyone What He Has Done!”
