  • Québec celebrates Réformation500 through multifarious activities . . .  (throughout 2017)

A series of exhibitions and talks presenting the Reformation and its impact on theology, faith, sexuality, dissemination of the Word, nationalism, freedom, education, civic responsibility, and music has been organized to present the Reformation to the general public.

January-October (Montreal):  De l’Ascension, Montreal, is sponsoring exhibitions, the stocking of shelves with Lutheran literature, largely heretofore unavailable in Quebec (catechism, hymnals, and Book of Concord), and the presentation of 5 talks on Luther and the Reformation and the Book of Concord at the Bible House in downtown Montreal. The LHM Luther booklet “A Treasure Revealed” is to be distributed in French and English in conjunction with these on-going activities. An LWML-Canada grant has allowed this project.

February-October (Montreal):  3 different Reformation500 ongoing exhibitions at Église de l’Ascension, Montreal, including http://www.here-i-stand.com/en and https://www.luther2017.de/en/martin-luther/texts-sources/ as well as 500th anniversary posters from around the world. A multi-congregational trilingual (Chinese, English, French) Reformation Day service is also planned.
